Beyond our degrees, I quickly learned that Gus has a incredibly tender heart that matches my own. While we don't share all the same hobbies, we’ve become a perfect pair by balancing each other out. I’ve become the resident "willing participant" and support crew for all of Gus’s outdoor adventures, and he loves getting me involved in whatever he’s passionate about.

Whether we’re cooking, working out, or traveling, we’ve spent the last couple of years realizing how much better we are as a team. We are so excited to finally choose each other for good and start this next chapter!
Our Story
Gus and I (Rachel) met for coffee in August 2024 after matching on Hinge. Interestingly, the date almost didn't happen—one of my brothers-in-law was actually trying to set me up with someone else and told me to cancel on Gus. I told him no; I had a really good feeling about it and was genuinely looking forward to meeting him.

As it turns out, Gus felt the same way. He’d actually been on another date the night before, but told his dad that he was looking forward to the coffee with me.Â
​
We realized almost immediately that we were a bit of a "niche" match. We were both working in ministry at the time, yet we both held STEM degrees. For me, finding someone who shared a heart for Christ and ministry while also sharing nerd qualities was a must!
Dress Code
What should I wear?Â
Garden Party Formal. We'd love to see our guests in fun, colorful, and vibrant attire! We ask that women wear formal midi or maxi dresses, and men wear a sharp dress shirt, tie, and trousers. Jackets are completely optional—stay cool and comfortable!

A Note on Footwear:Â Please be mindful that our venue features natural outdoor lawns and pathways near the water. Block heels, flats, or wedges will be your best friend for the evening!

The venue is about an hour north of Salt Lake City in North Ogden, Utah. Feel free to stay anywhere in-between the two.Â

The closest hotel to the venue, Cold Springs Trout Farm, is Comfort Inn in Farr West, Utah. If you are wanting a hotel near the airport, we recommend Courtyard by Marriott Salt Lake City Downtown.
